7 Highlights from Paris Fashion Week

DIOR Under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior is becoming more appealing to new generations season after season. Ready to wear, fresh looks, with those 70’s vibes. Dior new collection is definitely leaving pastel colors and pretty gowns behind, focusing the attention on logo bags, printed tees, which millenials of course do love. In an era where sharing is everything, Dior is moving fast enough to never pass unnoticed.

VALENTINO This collection was kind of different from what we are used to see on Valentino’s runways. Pier Paolo Piccioli was inspired by the Apollo moon landing for this Spring Summer 2018 collection. The inspiration is seen in the embroideries, the prints and the flowy volumes, which also reminds us of the 80’s. Impossible not to fall in love with those long dresses and trench coats.

SAINT LAURENT Vaccarello chose the most exciting venue for his Spring Summer 2018 collection: the Tour Eiffel at night. The atmosphere was magical and hundreds of guests were attending the show. For sure a brilliant choice, just as the looks spotted on the runway. Inspired to the Paris of Yves Saint Laurent this collection was full of strong outfits, black as a statement, always with a french touch. We loved it!

HERMES This brand is an institution in fashion and one of the chicest shows of Paris Fashion Week. For this Spring Summer 2018 checks were definitely a theme, seen on the runway next to total white looks, denim and trench coats where the horses theme is always present. Checks for Spring Summer? Why not.

CHLOE’ One of our favorite shows, year after year, is always Chloè. The timeless elegance, the boho chic looks and the styling choices are what make this show one of the best of Paris Fashion Week. New creative director Ramsay-Levi took inspiration from Chloe’s previous collections throughout history, creating something never seen before, yet so coherent with the brand’s personality. We like it all, from the accessories to the soft leather coats.

CHANEL Next on is Chanel. The waterfalls of the Gorges du Verdon were brought to the Grand Palais to create the venue of this Spring Summer collection. Lagerfeld was indeed inspired by nature and its great healing power, that’s why we can spot green, blue and nature related colors. The must have accessories? The transparent boots, bags and hats.

CELINE Last show for this post is Céline, the one show that takes Paris Fashion Week up to the next level of elegance. The inspiration was took from the late 70’s and the early 80’s, as Phoebe Philo mentioned after the show. Her collections are always on point, always classy, contemporary, interesting but minimal. For what is said to be Phoebe Philo’s last Cèline show, the mood behind it was more joyful and colorful than ever.
